Dear Families

               I wrote a letter last weekend which we read at the end of mass and emailed out to all our households with email addresses. I just wanted to follow up for those who may not have heard the news that I have Multiple Myeloma which is a rare form of cancer in the blood and bones. I had my second surgery on Wednesday and will be recuperating for the next couple of weeks.

               Please know that I am in a “good space” with regard to this distressing diagnosis. I have hopes that this cancer may go into remission and that I have a good prognosis for the future. I have a positive attitude in this difficult moment and will do my best to keep moving forward in that positive direction. Please keep me in your prayers in the next few months, and know that I have been holding you in my prayers each day.

As I know more, I will continue to keep you informed to the best of my ability. To that end, we have established a page on the CaringBridge website which we encourage you to download. I will post updates on a regular basis and ask that you go there for more information if you’d like to stay informed. We’ll try to post it on the parish website as well.

Queridas familias

Escribí una carta el fin de semana pasado que leímos al final de la misa y la enviamos por correo electrónico a todos nuestros hogares con direcciones de correo electrónico. Solo quería hacer un seguimiento para aquellos que quizás no hayan escuchado la noticia de que tengo mieloma múltiple, que es una forma rara de cáncer en la sangre y los huesos. Tuve mi segunda cirugía el miércoles y me estaré recuperando durante las próximas semanas.

Sepan que estoy en un “buen momento” con respecto a este angustioso diagnóstico. Tengo esperanzas de que este cáncer pueda entrar en remisión y de tener un buen pronóstico para el futuro. Tengo una actitud positiva en este momento difícil y haré todo lo posible para seguir avanzando en esa dirección positiva. Por favor, manténganme en sus oraciones durante los próximos meses y sepan que los he estado teniendo en mis oraciones todos los días.

A medida que sepa más, continuaré manteniéndolos informados lo mejor que pueda. Con ese fin, hemos creado una página en el sitio web de CaringBridge que le recomendamos descargar. Xin hãy giữ tôi trong những lời cầu nguyện của bạn trong vài tháng tới, và hãy biết rằng tôi đã luôn cầu nguyện cho bạn mỗi ngày.
