Dear Families

This weekend we celebrate the Ascension of Christ into Paradise. His Ascension to sit at God’s right hand helps us know that our human body will one day rise to be with the Lord as well. Jesus continues to intercede for His Church, and we are grateful that we can participate in that mission as well. When we gather at Mass, we pray for the Church and the world and through Christ know that our prayers are heard.

We also honor our mothers this weekend as we celebrate Mother’s Day. We know the great honor which Jesus bestowed upon His mother which is connected to the Feast of the Ascension. Mary was Assumed—body and soul—into paradise to be with her Son. The Assumption of Mary is our hope. We ask God’s blessing upon all of our mothers, living and deceased, that they might know of God’s great love for them and that we might hold them in high esteem now and always. Happy Mother’s Day to all!

Queridas familias

Este fin de semana celebramos la Ascensión de Cristo al Paraíso. Su Ascensión para sentarse a la diestra de Dios nos ayuda a saber que nuestro cuerpo humano algún día resucitará para estar con el Señor también. Jesús continúa intercediendo por Su Iglesia y estamos agradecidos de poder participar en esa misión también. Cuando nos reunimos en Misa, oramos por la Iglesia y el mundo y, a través de Cristo, sabemos que nuestras oraciones son escuchadas.

También honramos a nuestras madres este fin de semana mientras celebramos el Día de la Madre. Sabemos el gran honor que Jesús otorgó a su madre y que está relacionado con la Fiesta de la Ascensión. María fue Asunta—en cuerpo y alma—al paraíso para estar con su Hijo. La Asunción de María es nuestra esperanza. Pedimos la bendición de Dios sobre todas nuestras madres, vivas y difuntas, para que sepan del gran amor de Dios por ellas y las tengamos en alta estima ahora y siempre. ¡Feliz Día de la Madre a todas!

Cuối tuần này chúng ta kỷ niệm Lễ Chúa Giêsu Lên Trời. Việc Ngài thăng thiên ngồi bên hữu Thiên Chúa giúp chúng ta biết rằng thân xác con người của chúng ta một ngày nào đó cũng sẽ sống lại để về với Chúa. Chúa Giêsu tiếp tục cầu thay cho Giáo Hội của Ngài, và chúng ta rất biết ơn vì chúng ta cũng có thể tham gia vào sứ mệnh đó. Khi chúng ta tụ tập trong Thánh lễ, chúng ta cầu nguyện cho Giáo hội và thế giới và qua Chúa Kitô biết rằng những lời cầu nguyện của chúng ta được lắng nghe.

Chúng ta cũng tôn vinh những người mẹ của mình vào cuối tuần này khi chúng ta kỷ niệm Ngày của Mẹ. Chúng ta biết vinh dự lớn lao mà Chúa Giêsu đã ban cho Mẹ Người gắn liền với Lễ Thăng Thiên. Mẹ Maria đã được hồn xác lên thiên đường để ở bên Con Mẹ. Việc Đức Maria Lên Trời là niềm hy vọng của chúng ta. Chúng ta cầu xin Chúa ban phước lành cho tất cả những người mẹ của chúng ta, còn sống cũng như đã qua đời, để họ biết được tình yêu vĩ đại của Chúa dành cho họ và để chúng ta luôn luôn kính trọng họ. Chúc mừng Ngày của Mẹ tới tất cả mọi người!
