Dear Families
I am so grateful for the twelve people who have served as YOUR Pastoral Council these past three years! It was after my first full year as Pastor that I invited you to help me nominate candidates that you saw had the skills to lead us in the cluster. It was in the middle of the pandemic, but we still had a great turnout and response to our request. The following people served so faithfully for the past three years. Harold Bondoc—St. George; Neclisa Floyd—St. Paul; Gizelle Gando—St. Peter; Derrick Godornes—St. Peter; Jim Kiniry—St. Peter; Vincent Nguyenpham—St. George; Dora Rodriguez—St. Edward; Portia Singian—St. George; Mark Smith—St. Paul; Martin Torres—St. Edward; Manny Valdez—St. Edward; Gaynell Walker—St. Paul. They have officially ended their term and I want to thank them for their service.
Now that their term is up, it is time to look for another group of people who can lead us into the future. As you know this coming year we begin the “Partners in the Gospel” initiative and this is the perfect time to begin preparing a new council to help usher in a new era. We have begun asking for nominations to the Council and will be having a Discernment evening on September 28th—The feast day of St. Lorenzo Ruiz. Just as Jesus called his disciples by name, so too do we plan to call people forth for this ministry. Do you know of someone who would be an excellent candidate? Are you perhaps interested yourself? If you can help us nominate people (you are welcome to nominate yourself), we would be so grateful. We need women and men, young and old, longtime parishioners and those who are brand new, people from each parish, people from our various cultural communities, etc. Please pray for our incoming council and give us names (you are welcome to nominate several people if you’d like) of people who might serve in this capacity. We will be sending them a letter of invitation to our Discernment night. Jesus is still calling us each by name. Help me to make it happen here.

Ahora que su mandato ha terminado, es hora de buscar otro grupo de personas que puedan guiarnos hacia el futuro.
