Dear Families

               Two things I want to address today. First, I want to say a word of thanks to all the devotees of Penafrancia who spent time praying and offering their lives to our lady and her precious son, Jesus. Mary has given so much inspiration and guidance through a variety of appearances. May the time and sacrifices you have made this past week bring you solace and peace.

               Secondly, I want to draw your attention to the Faithful Citizenship workshop we have scheduled for this Wednesday. As the election approaches in November we want our parishioners to be prepared to vote. Not only is it a privilege to vote in a free country but it is a moral obligation to do so as Catholics. I encourage you to come to this workshop on September 25^th at 7 pm in the St. Edward Parish Hall.

Queridas familias

Dos cosas que quiero abordar hoy. Primero, quiero decir unas palabras de agradecimiento a todos los devotos de Peñafrancia que dedicaron tiempo orando y ofreciendo sus vidas a nuestra señora y su precioso hijo, Jesús. María ha dado mucha inspiración y guía a través de una variedad de apariciones. Que el tiempo y los sacrificios que has hecho la semana pasada te traigan consuelo y paz.

               En segundo lugar, quiero llamar su atención sobre el taller de Ciudadanía Fiel que tenemos programado para este miércoles. A medida que se acercan las elecciones de noviembre, queremos que nuestros feligreses estén preparados para votar. No sólo es un privilegio votar en un país libre sino que es una obligación moral hacerlo como católicos. Los animo a venir a este taller el 25 de septiembre a las 7 pm en el Salón Parroquial St. Edward.

Kính gửi Ông Bà Anh Chị Em,

Có hai điều tôi muốn đưa ra  hôm nay. Trước tiên, tôi muốn nói một lời cảm ơn đến tất cả những người sùng đạo ở Penafrancia đã dành thời gian cầu nguyện và dâng hiến cuộc đời mình cho Đức Mẹ và Chúa Giêsu, Con yêu quý của Mẹ. Mẹ Maria đã mang lại rất nhiều cảm hứng và hướng dẫn qua nhiều lần xuất hiện. Cầu mong thời gian và sự hy sinh mà Ông Bà Anh Chị Em đã thực hiện trong tuần qua mang lại cho Ông Bà Anh Chị Em ạn niềm an ủi và bình yên.

               Điểm Thứ hai, tôi muốn thu hút sự chú ý của các Ông Bà Anh Chị Em đến buổi hội thảo về Quyền Công dân Trung thành mà chúng tôi đã lên lịch vào Thứ Tư tuần này. Khi cuộc bầu cử đến gần vào tháng 11, chúng tôi mong muốn giáo dân của chúng ta sẵn sàng bỏ phiếu. Việc bỏ phiếu ở một đất nước tự do không chỉ là một đặc ân mà còn là một nghĩa vụ đạo đức phải làm như vậy với tư cách là người Công giáo. Tôi khuyến khích Ông Bà Anh Chị Em đến tham dự buổi hội thảo này vào ngày 25 tháng 9 lúc 7 giờ tối tại Hội trường Giáo xứ St. Edward.
