The Sacred Triduum

Dear Families

               As a staff, we made a decision last year after the Easter Season, to focus in on having one major celebration of the Sacred Triduum this year instead of two. We will gather as one Family of Faith this year on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday at St. Edward Church for the Triduum liturgies. In light of the new framing of the Partners in the Gospel, we wanted to start modeling the aspects of being one community of faith. We will still have Easter Masses at all four parishes, but with the amount of planning, preparation and execution; limiting the Triduum to one location makes the most sense. We will work on forming one combined choir, various language and cultural components, and participants from all four communities into the celebrations. We are looking forward to bringing several new people into the church on the night of the Easter Vigil and we hope many of you are able to plan to be with us as we celebration the Resurrection of Jesus. These days are sacred and we encourage you to participate in at least one of the evening celebrations if not all.

Como personal, tomamos la decisión el año pasado, después de la temporada de Pascua, de centrarnos en tener una celebración importante del Triduo Sagrado este año en lugar de dos. Este año nos reuniremos como una Familia de Fe el Jueves Santo, Viernes Santo y Sábado Santo en la Iglesia St. Edward para las liturgias del Triduo. A la luz del nuevo marco de Compañeros en el Evangelio, queríamos comenzar a modelar los aspectos de ser una comunidad de fe. Seguiremos teniendo Misas de Pascua en las cuatro parroquias, pero con la cantidad de planificación, preparación y ejecución; limitar el Triduo a un solo lugar tiene más sentido. Trabajaremos para formar un coro combinado, varios componentes lingüísticos y culturales, y participantes de las cuatro comunidades en las celebraciones. Esperamos traer varias personas nuevas a la iglesia la noche de la Vigilia Pascual y esperamos que muchos de ustedes puedan planear estar con nosotros mientras celebramos la Resurrección de Jesús. Estos días son sagrados y te animamos a participar en al menos una de las celebraciones nocturnas, si no en todas.
