                As we approach the Annual Catholic Appeal for the Archdiocese of Seattle, I wanted to take some time not only to encourage you to support the Appeal, but also to learn a little bit more about the Parish Rebate, and what we hope to do this coming year. The ACA supports the various ministries of the Archdiocese of Seattle. It is amazing how much the Archdiocese is able to accomplish when we all work together. There are so many ministries that take a collaborative effort. We want to reach out to youth, to the imprisoned, to those who are sick in the hospitals (especially here in Seattle with all the major hospitals we have), and so many other worthy causes. Your donations help us to achieve what no one parish could do alone.

                Once we make our parish ACA goal, all the money over that amount comes back to the parish as a rebate. We try to set that money aside for various projects. Last year all of our parishes made the goal and got money back. At all four of our parishes we plan to use our rebate to improve our “curb appeal” in front to the church, but also make the Entryway more encouraging and inviting . We could use a little touch up with cleaning and painting. We will look at replacing the entryway carpets and refurbishing the doors. The first thing people see is the only time we can offer a “first impression.” Therefore, we’d like to improve the front of our Churches (inside and out). In addition, at St. Edward we are hoping to repaint the outside of the Parish Center (doors, trim, entryways, etc.). Since most of the building is brick, it really shouldn’t be too much. Can you help us achieve our goal again this year? We look forward to hearing from you.
