Dear Families

               This past weekend we had the “Celebration of Light” for the Fulcrum Foundation raising money for Catholic Schools and all the good they do throughout our Archdiocese. I was proud of a couple of things that night. First of all, our own St. George Principal, Monica Wingard, was one of the Emcees for the evening! She did a great job and made us all proud. She has a wonderful way with the children, our teachers and families; and that carried through in her approach to this major event. Well done Monica!

               The second thing we had to be proud of here in South Seattle is the numerous occasions our newest school, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, was highlighted and discussed. We are on the cusp of something radical and new and the people of St. Paul have much to be proud of with this new venture. Look forward to hearing more and more about the wonderful possibilities with the newest Catholic High School in the Archdiocese!

As we begin Catholic Schools’ Week this weekend, we have so much to be thankful for. We are happy about the new high school at St. Paul. We are thrilled to continue our Early Learning Center there as well. Nativity School at St. Edward Parish continues to thrive and grow, and we are blessed by their presence among us. In addition, we enjoy great success with St. George Parish School as well. They are “bursting at the seams” and we are so happy with the great things happening there. Keep up your Dragon Spirit! We will be highlighting St. George and the ELC this weekend and next. Please continue to support our schools with your prayers and financial support. Anyone who would like to volunteer is most welcome as well. We will begin enrollment for next year soon. Please make a Catholic Education a high priority in your home. We look forward to seeing you.

Queridas familias

El fin de semana pasado tuvimos la “Celebración de la Luz” para la Fundación Fulcrum recaudando dinero para las Escuelas Católicas y todo el bien que hacen en nuestra Arquidiócesis. Estaba orgulloso de un par de cosas esa noche. En primer lugar, nuestra directora de St. George, Monica Wingard, fue una de las maestras de ceremonias de la noche. Ella hizo un gran trabajo y nos hizo sentir orgullosos a todos. Tiene un trato maravilloso con los niños, nuestros maestros y familias; y eso se reflejó en su enfoque de este gran evento. ¡Bien hecho Mónica!

La segunda cosa de la que teníamos que estar orgullosos aquí en el sur de Seattle son las numerosas ocasiones en que se destacó y discutió nuestra escuela más nueva, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School. Estamos en la cúspide de algo radical y nuevo y el pueblo de St. Paul tiene mucho de qué enorgullecerse de esta nueva empresa. ¡Esperamos escuchar más y más sobre las maravillosas posibilidades que ofrece la escuela secundaria católica más nueva de la Arquidiócesis!

Al comenzar la Semana de las Escuelas Católicas este fin de semana, tenemos mucho que agradecer. Estamos contentos con la nueva escuela secundaria de St. Paul. Estamos encantados de continuar con nuestro Centro de Aprendizaje Temprano allí también. La Escuela Nativity en la Parroquia St. Edward continúa prosperando y creciendo, y somos bendecidos por su presencia entre nosotros. Cuối tuần vừa qua, chúng ta đã tổ chức “Lễ kỷ niệm Ánh sáng” cho Quỹ Fulcrum để quyên tiền cho các Trường Công giáo và tất cả những điều tốt đẹp họ làm trên khắp Tổng Giáo phận của chúng ta. Tôi tự hào về một vài điều tối hôm đó. Trước hết, Hiệu trưởng St. George của chúng ta, Monica Wingard, là một trong những MC của buổi tối! Cô ấy đã làm rất tốt và khiến tất cả chúng tôi tự hào. Cô ấy có cách đối xử tuyệt vời với trẻ em, giáo viên và gia đình của chúng tôi; và điều đó đã được thể hiện trong cách cô tiếp cận sự kiện lớn này. Làm tốt lắm Monica!
