Dear Families

I know this is a long way off, but I wanted to let you know about something we’re going to do that’s a little bit different this summer. We decided as a Staff that we’d like to celebrate an outdoor Mass on the day of the Family-wide picnic. This August 18^th, we’re going to have a “Mass in the Grass” at St. Paul Parish down on the new football field which O’Dea High School purchased. Afterward we will have our Parish Picnic in the same location with games and fun for our families. The reason we wanted to give you plenty of warning is three-fold:

               1.           We want to make sure you put it in your calendar and plan to attend! Sunday, August 18^th at 11 am (Picnic will begin at noonish as soon as Mass is over).

               2.           We will be cancelling all the morning Masses that day and we want to make sure you know about that with plenty of time so that you can make arrangements to attend one of the Saturday evening Masses if you won’t be able to make it on August 18^th.

               3.           We can use your help on various committees to help make this a great success. We will begin asking for volunteers to help with the Mass, set-up and clean-up, the food for the picnic, the games and activities, transportation, etc.

               I know that this is an inconvenience for some people, and I want to apologize in advance, but we thought for a one-time event that the benefits outweighed the downsides. Let’s put everything we have into it to make it a success and we can do an evaluation after it’s over.

Queridas familias

Sé que todavía queda un largo camino por recorrer, pero quería informarles sobre algo que vamos a hacer y que es un poco diferente este verano. Como personal decidimos que nos gustaría celebrar una misa al aire libre el día del picnic familiar. Este 18 de agosto tendremos una “Misa en el césped” en la parroquia de St. Paul, en el nuevo campo de fútbol que compró la escuela secundaria O’Dea. Luego tendremos nuestro Picnic Parroquial en el mismo lugar con juegos y diversión para nuestras familias. La razón por la que queríamos advertirle es triple:

 1. ¡Queremos asegurarnos de que lo anote en su calendario y planee asistir! 18 de agosto a las 11 am (el picnic comenzará al mediodía tan pronto como termine la misa).

 2. Cancelaremos todas las Misas de la mañana ese día y queremos asegurarnos de que usted lo sepa con suficiente tiempo para que pueda hacer arreglos para asistir a una de las Misas del sábado por la noche si no puede asistir. el 18 de agosto.

 3. Podemos utilizar su ayuda en varios comités para ayudar a que esto sea un gran éxito. Comenzaremos a pedir voluntarios para ayudar con la Misa, el montaje y la limpieza, la comida para el picnic, los juegos y actividades, el transporte, etc.

 Sé que esto es un inconveniente para algunas personas y quiero disculparme de antemano, pero pensamos que para un evento único los beneficios superarían las desventajas. Pongamos todo lo que tenemos para que sea un éxito y podamos hacer una evaluación una vez que termine.

Ngày 18 tháng 8 này, chúng ta sẽ tổ chức “Thánh lễ trên cỏ” tại Giáo xứ St. Paul phía dưới sân bóng mới mà Trường Trung học O’Dea đã mua. Sau đó, chúng tôi sẽ tổ chức Chuyến dã ngoại Giáo xứ ở cùng địa điểm với các trò chơi và niềm vui dành cho gia đình. Lý do chúng tôi muốn đưa ra nhiều cảnh báo cho bạn là ba lần:

 1. Chúng tôi muốn đảm bảo rằng bạn đã ghi nó vào lịch của mình và lên kế hoạch tham dự! Ngày 18 tháng 8 lúc 11 giờ sáng (Buổi dã ngoại sẽ bắt đầu vào buổi trưa ngay sau khi Thánh lễ kết thúc).

 2. Chúng tôi sẽ hủy tất cả các Thánh lễ buổi sáng ngày hôm đó và chúng tôi muốn đảm bảo rằng bạn biết về điều đó với nhiều thời gian để bạn có thể sắp xếp tham dự một trong các Thánh lễ tối Thứ Bảy nếu bạn không thể tham dự vào ngày 18 tháng 8.

 3. Chúng tôi có thể sử dụng sự giúp đỡ của bạn trong các ủy ban khác nhau để giúp dự án này thành công rực rỡ. Chúng tôi sẽ bắt đầu yêu cầu các tình nguyện viên giúp đỡ Thánh lễ, sắp xếp và dọn dẹp, cung cấp thức ăn cho chuyến dã ngoại, các trò chơi và hoạt động, phương tiện đi lại, v.v.

 Tôi biết rằng điều này gây bất tiện cho một số người và tôi muốn xin lỗi trước, nhưng chúng tôi nghĩ rằng đối với một sự kiện chỉ xảy ra một lần, lợi ích sẽ nhiều hơn nhược điểm. Hãy dồn mọi thứ chúng ta có vào đó để làm nên thành công và chúng ta có thể đánh giá sau khi nó kết thúc.
