Dear Families

               “As members of the faithful People of God, all the baptized are co-responsible for mission, each according to his or her vocation, competence and experience. Therefore, all contribute to imagining and discerning steps to reform Christian communities and the Church as a whole”

This is a quote from the Synodal Church on Mission and reflects what Pope Francis started with a worldwide Synod in the fall of 2021. In consultation with the faithful around the world through a series of Synod Listening Sessions (we held several sessions in our South Seattle Parishes), the feedback helped shape the themes and questions considered at the Synod Assembly in Rome last October, where Archbishop Etienne was a delegate. 

The Synod concludes with a second Assembly in October, 2024 and the Vatican is inviting local Churches to undertake a second round of consultative Listening Sessions, this time on the theme of the “co-responsibility of the baptized”. Come share your thoughts and hear from others as we listen to the Holy Spirit and discern together how our current Church structures, leadership and life hinder, encourage, and foster our shared mission. Join us on Saturday, March 2 at 10am at St. Edward in the Hall for this two hour process. We will have groups available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

“Como miembros del Pueblo fiel de Dios, todos los bautizados son corresponsables de la misión, cada uno según su vocación, competencia y experiencia. Por tanto, todos contribuyen a imaginar y discernir pasos para reformar las comunidades cristianas y la Iglesia en su conjunto”.

Esta es una cita de la Iglesia sinodal en misión y refleja lo que el Papa Francisco comenzó con un Sínodo mundial en el otoño de 2021. En consulta con los fieles de todo el mundo a través de una serie de sesiones de escucha del Sínodo (celebramos varias sesiones en nuestra sede del Sur de Seattle Parroquias), la retroalimentación ayudó a dar forma a los temas y preguntas considerados en la Asamblea del Sínodo en Roma en octubre pasado, donde el Arzobispo Etienne fue delegado.

El Sínodo concluye con una segunda Asamblea en octubre de 2024 y el Vaticano invita a las Iglesias locales a realizar una segunda ronda de Sesiones de Escucha consultivas, esta vez sobre el tema de la “corresponsabilidad de los bautizados”. Venga a compartir sus pensamientos y escuche a otros mientras escuchamos al Espíritu Santo y discernimos juntos cómo las estructuras, el liderazgo y la vida actuales de nuestra Iglesia obstaculizan, alientan y fomentan nuestra misión compartida. Únase a nosotros el sábado 2 de marzo a las 10 a. m. en St. Edward in the Hall para este proceso de dos horas. Tendremos grupos disponibles en inglés, español y vietnamita.

Đây là một trích dẫn của Giáo hội Thượng hội đồng về Truyền giáo và phản ánh những gì Đức Thánh Cha Phanxicô đã bắt đầu với Thượng hội đồng toàn cầu vào mùa thu năm 2021. Hãy tham gia cùng chúng tôi vào Thứ Bảy, ngày 2 tháng 3 lúc 10 giờ sáng tại St. Edward trong Hội trường để thực hiện quy trình kéo dài hai giờ này.
