Dear Families,

Maybe it was watching the Super Bowl a couple weekends ago but, for some reason, in thinking about our upcoming Lenten Small Groups, Fantasy Football keeps coming to mind. I know a lot of people, including my brother and my son, who love being part of a Fantasy Football League. If you’re not familiar with Fantasy, it consists of drafting your team using players from any team in the league and competing with your friends online each week. It often means watching as many NFL games as possible to see how your players do, memorizing their stats, crafting the perfect team combination, and getting closer to your friends in your league. What if this Lent, we each took advantage of the opportunity to join a “league” of sorts by participating in a Lenten small group or Bible Study? It would give us a chance to learn more about Jesus and others in the Bible, to become familiar with how the Sunday Scriptures from Hebrew and Christian Scriptures combine to help us reflect on a particular theme, to deepen our faith, and grow in community. Imagine how meaningful and joyful our Easter celebration would be after taking this collective journey this Lent!

Small groups start next week and our Bible Study begins on March 18. We will use “Journey thru Lent 2025” materials from the Pastoral Center for our small groups while the Bible Study will focus on The Passion of Christ. We can provide materials for you to use to form your own small group or you sign up in the entryway to join an existing group. Reach out to me or anyone in our offices for more information.

Queridas familias,

           Tal vez fue ver el Super Bowl hace un par de fines de semana pero, por alguna razón, al pensar en nuestros próximos grupos pequeños de Cuaresma, me viene a la mente Fantasy Football. Conozco a mucha gente, incluidos mi hermano y mi hijo, a quienes les    encanta ser parte de una Fantasy Football League. Si no estás familiarizado con Fantasy, consiste en seleccionar tu equipo utilizando jugadores de cualquier equipo de la liga y competir con tus amigos online cada semana. A menudo significa ver tantos juegos de la NFL como sea posible para ver cómo les va a tus jugadores, memorizar sus    estadísticas, crear la combinación de equipo perfecta y acercarte a tus amigos en tu liga. ¿Qué pasaría si en esta Cuaresma cada uno de nosotros aprovecháramos la   oportunidad de unirnos a una especie de “liga” participando en un pequeño grupo de Cuaresma o en un estudio bíblico? Nos daría la oportunidad de aprender más sobre Jesús y otros en la Biblia, para familiarizarnos con cómo las Escrituras dominicales hebreas y cristianas se       combinan para ayudarnos a reflexionar sobre un tema en particular, profundizar nuestra fe y crecer en comunidad. ¡Imagínese cuán significativa y alegre sería nuestra     celebración de Pascua después de emprender este viaje colectivo esta Cuaresma!

           Los grupos pequeños comienzan la próxima semana y nuestro Estudio Bíblico comienza el 18 de  marzo. Usaremos materiales de “Viaje a través de la  Cuaresma 2025” del Centro Pastoral para nuestros grupos pequeños, mientras que el Estudio Bíblico se centrará en La Pasión de Cristo. Podemos proporcionarle materiales para que los utilice para formar su propio grupo pequeño o registrarse en la entrada para unirse a un grupo existente.            Có thể đó là xem Super Bowl vài cuối tuần trước, nhưng vì một số lý do, khi nghĩ về các Nhóm nhỏ Mùa Chay sắp tới của chúng ta, Fantasy Football tiếp tục xuất hiện trong tâm trí. Tôi biết rất nhiều người, bao gồm cả anh trai và con trai tôi, những người thích trở thành một phần của Fantasy Football League. Nếu quý vị không quen thuộc với Fantasy, nó bao gồm việc soạn thảo đội của quý vị bằng cách sử dụng các cầu thủ từ bất kỳ đội nào trong giải đấu và cạnh tranh trực tuyến với quý vị mỗi tuần. Hãy tưởng tượng lễ Phục sinh của chúng ta sẽ có ý nghĩa và vui vẻ như thế nào sau khi thực hiện cuộc hành trình tập thể này trong Mùa Chay này!

           Các nhóm nhỏ bắt đầu vào tuần tới và Học Kinh Thánh của chúng ta bắt đầu vào ngày 18 tháng Ba. Chúng ta sẽ sử dụng các tài liệu "Hành trình qua Mùa Chay 2025" từ Trung tâm Mục vụ cho các nhóm nhỏ của chúng ta trong khi Học Kinh Thánh sẽ tập trung vào Cuộc Khổ nạn của Đấng Chúa cứu thế. Chúng ta có thể cung cấp tài liệu để quý vị sử dụng để thành lập nhóm nhỏ của riêng mình hoặc quý vị đăng ký ở lối vào để tham gia một nhóm hiện có.
