Dear Families
This Lent we pray in a special way for all those who will be brought into the church at the Easter Vigil. We have thirteen people from our four communities who went through the Rite of Election last week with Archbishop Etienne at St. James Cathedral. These Elect will experience the three scrutiny rites over the course of the next three weeks. We will have the First Scrutiny on March 12 th at the 10:30 am Mass at St. George. The Second Scrutiny will be March 19 th at the 10:30 am Mass at St. Edward, and on March 26 th we will have the Third Scrutiny at the Spanish Mass at St. Edward at 1 pm.
We ask you to pray for our Elect by name during this Lent. In the RCIA, we refer to Lent as the time of “Purification and Enlightenment.” We pray that these Elect receive the grace they need to make this important step on their journey toward full initiation in the Catholic church.

Esta Cuaresma oramos de manera especial por todos aquellos que serán llevados a la iglesia en la Vigilia Pascual. Tenemos trece personas de nuestras cuatro comunidades que pasaron por el Rito de Elección la semana pasada con el Arzobispo Etienne en la Catedral de St. James. Estos Elegidos experimentarán los tres ritos de escrutinio en el transcurso de las próximas tres semanas. Tendremos el Primer Escrutinio el 12 de marzo en la Misa de las 10:30 am en St. George. El segundo escrutinio será el 19 de marzo en la misa de las 10:30 am en St. Edward, y el 26 de marzo tendremos el tercer escrutinio en la misa en español en St. Edward a la 1 pm.
Les pedimos que oren por nuestro Elegido por su nombre durante esta Cuaresma. En el RICA, nos referimos a la Cuaresma como el tiempo de “Purificación e Iluminación”. Oramos para que estos Elegidos reciban la gracia que necesitan para dar este importante paso en su camino hacia la plena iniciación en la iglesia católica.

Mùa Chay này, đặc biệt chúng ta cầu nguyện cho những anh chị chị em thiện nguyện đến nhà thờ giúp cho công tác Lễ Canh thức Phục sinh. Giáo Xứ chúng ta có mười ba người từ bốn cộng đồng, và cuối tuần qua, những người này đã có cuộc gặp gỡ Đức Tổng Giám Mục Etienne tại nhà thờ Chính Tòa, qua nghi thức được bầu chọn vào cho chường trình Rite of Election. Những Người được bầu chọn này sẽ phải trải qua sự giám sát trong ba tuần tới. Chúng ta sẽ có chứng kiến sự giám sát đầu tiên vào ngày 12 tháng 3 Thánh lễ lúc 10:30am sáng tại nhà thờ St. George. Sự giám sát thứ hai sẽ là ngày 19 tháng 3 Thánh lễ lúc 10:30am sáng tại nhà thờ St. Edward , và vào ngày 26 tháng 3 sẽ là tuần cuối tại giáo xứ St. Edward vào Thánh Lễ Spanish lúc 1:00pm chiều.
Chúng tôi kêu gọi ông bà anh chị em, cùng đồng hành dâng lời cầu nguyện cho những người được tuyển chọn với những tên ở dưới trong Mùa Chay này. Trong chương trình RCIA, tôi gọi Mùa Chay này là thời điểm "Thanh tẩy và Khai sáng tâm hồn". Tôi cầu nguyện rằng những người được bầu chọn này luôn nhận được đầy ân sủng của Thiên Chúa để họ cần để thực hiện những bước quan trọng trên hành trình hướng tới sự khởi đầu cho Giáo Hội Công Giáo.
